I host game nights weekly at Mox Boarding House in Seattle for my friends and help out with the bi-weekly game nights at Ravenna Brewing Company that are sort of sponsored by Cherry Picked Games. I love playing games because they mentally stimulate me, provide a low-stress way to socialize (with limited small-talk), and I feel cool and smart being "in the know" about complex games. Keeping my brain sharp is a top priority and learning new games helps me get better at problem solving, strategizing, and collaborating. The social landscape of board gaming is great because I get to bond over learning new games and get to give and take a moderate amount of sass from my friends. It also feels cool that my participation in the board game community has led many people to view me as a bit of an expert and I'm often asked for recommendations.
I’m an organizer who builds community through acts of service. In my spare time, I work to give back to the homeless community and am part of a committee to build a new park near the famous Fremont Troll. I am a trivia nerd, a karaoke fiend, a snowboarder, a OneWheel enthusiast, and a cat mama to Griddles.
